WOD written by Conor Murphy in Memory of Ty Barnes

The week of 20 November 2012; Special Tactics warriors, friends and family around the world will be working out in memory of Ty Barnes.  Please join us in the workout or support us with a donation made to Special Operations Warrior Foundation in Tys honor.

Ty Barnes was born November 20th 1988 and raised in Gig Harbor Washington. Ty Graduated high school in 2007 and enlisted in the Air Force
shorty after with a contract to be a Combat Controller.  During a vigorous part of his pipeline training, Ty lost his Father, Marshal Keith Barnes.  Through selflessness and dedication he continued his special operations training and graduated a few months later.  After successfully completed 2 years with the 220 Special Tactics squadron in Japan, Ty was able to be stationed at McCord Air Force base, WA.  Just a few miles from home.  Ty loved his home town almost as much as he loved jumping out of planes, but no where near the love he had for his family.  On August 20, 2012 Ty was killed on his motorcycle while driving home. He was 23 years old and survived by his mother Alisa and his brothers Chad, Nate, Conor and Grant.  He will never be forgotten.
